The Assessment Book contains a variety of assessment options for every chapter as well as a prerequisite practice and pre- and post-course tests. The Assessment Book varies based on the grade level. There is also an answer sheet to practice gridded response questions for standardized tests.
K-5:
- Prerequisite Skills Practice with Item Analysis
The Prerequisite Skills Practice covers material that students should be familiar with from the prior grade. The Item Analysis can be used to determine topics that need to be reviewed.
- Pre-Course Test
The Pre-Course Test measures students’ current understanding of the content in this course.
- Chapter Tests
The Chapter Tests provide assessment of student understanding of key concepts taught in the chapter. There are two tests for each chapter.
- Course Benchmark Tests
The Course Benchmark Tests measure students’ cumulative understanding of topics throughout the course. There are three tests, one after each of the first three quarters.
- Post-Course Test
The Post-Course Test measures students’ understanding of all content in this course.
6-8:

- STEAM Performance Tasks
The STEAM Performance Tasks present an assessment of the content in each chapter in a real-world situation. These tasks correlate to the STEAM Video in each chapter.
- Course Benchmark Tests
The Course Benchmark Tests measure students’ cumulative understanding of topics throughout the course. There are three tests, one after each of the first three quarters.

The Post-Course Test measures students’ understanding of all content in this course.
High School:

- Performance Tasks
The Performance Tasks present an assessment in a real-world situation. Every chapter has a task that allows students to work with multiple objectives and apply their knowledge to realistic scenarios.
- Cumulative Tests
The Cumulative Tests provide students practice answering questions in standardized test format. The assessments cover material from multiple chapters of the textbook. The questions represent problem types and reasoning patterns frequently found on standardized tests.
- Post-Course Test with Item Anaylsis
The Post-Course Test measures students’ understanding of all content in this course.

For the Quizzes, Chapter Tests, Alternative Assessments, Performance Tasks, and Cumulative Assessments, search the chapter level for Assessment Book.
The Assessment Book is completely editable in Word and Google Docs so teachers can customize each assessment to meet the needs of all students.
